In August of 2019, the Marathon County Board declared an emergency with respect to the structural integrity of the County Jail. After several months of significant work, the repair and reconstruction project is finished and the County Board has declared the emergency over.

Marathon County Government employees and leaders observed the Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. holiday with a focus on Dr. King’s message of service. The MLK “Day On” event challenged attendees to ask how they could better serve our community and learn more about those they work alongside and serve.
