The Marathon County Conservation, Planning, and Zoning (CPZ) Department has started the process of adding nearly 7,000 Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (commonly called “POWTS” or “septic systems”) to its Maintenance Program. Adopting a New Mindset :: Government Expenditures = Community Investments in Health, Safety, & Prosperity
Marathon County’s overarching goal is: To be the safest, healthiest, and most prosperous county in Wisconsin. That’s a BIG GOAL. County Administrator Brad Karger suggests our goal can’t be achieved, though, with a mindset focused on scarcity. To be successful, he believes we need to adopt an investment mindset — viewing government expenditures as “community investments.”
