October means the start of indoor ice skating at the Marathon Park Ice Arena. Learn about skate rentals and public-skating hours at the indoor ice arena at Marathon Park. 

Plus, the public is invited to the County’s first-ever “Scary Skate” on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, where children and youth can get treats and meet and skate with the Wausau RiverWolves Hockey Team in a spooky Halloween-themed atmosphere at Marathon Park Ice Arena Rink #1. Blazing Trails :: Marathon County’s ATV/UTV Opportunities

In Marathon County, there are 2 unique trails open for public ATV/UTV use:
(1) Burma Road County Forest Unit & ATV Trail and (2) Edgar–Fenwood Trail.

ATV/UTV trails are OPEN between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. through September 30. (So you gotta hurry to get in some fall riding time before the trails close to ATV/UTV traffic in October and November for hunting season.)

Beginning March 15, register your family for Marathon County’s community-wide “Active Family Challenge.” Then, between April 15 and June 15, have each team member in your family get at least 1 hour of active recreation each day. Log 60 active hours with us & you WIN the challenge! A POOL PARTY will be held at the end of the 10 weeks, plus PRIZES will be will be awarded as you reach 15, 20, 45, and 60 hours of activity.
