Sharing the Road with Snowplows :: Please Be Patient with Our Plow Crews

That means the Marathon County Highway Department plows 874 miles of state and federal highways — in addition to plowing 600 miles of county roads! Marathon County’s overarching goal is: To be the safest, healthiest, and most prosperous county in Wisconsin. That’s a BIG GOAL. County Administrator Brad Karger suggests our goal can’t be achieved, though, with a mindset focused on scarcity. To be successful, he believes we need to adopt an investment mindset — viewing government expenditures as “community investments.”
