Get the Garden of Your DREAMS at the UW-Extension Master Gardeners’ Plant Sale

Your garden dreams really CAN come true by visiting the UW-Extension Master Gardeners plant sale at the Marathon Park Cattle Barns in Wausau on Saturday, May 19!

The sale starts bright and early at 7:00 a.m. and goes till 12 noon. 

Watch this movie trailer for a sneak peak of perennials (old favorites and some you may not be so familiar with) available this year. All plants are grown locally. 

Listed in order of appearance are:

  • Black-Eyed Susans
  • Purple Coneflower
  • Bleeding Heart & Hosta
  • Jacobs Ladder
  • Ligularia
  • Yucca (yes, they are hardy here)
  • Baptisa
  • Hollyhocks
  • Bee Balm
  • Brown-Eyed Susans
  • Phlox Stolinipera
  • Brunnera
  • Queen of the Prairie
  • Dead Nettle
  • Autumn Joy Sedum
  • Lungwort
  • Dragon’s Blood & Angelina (2 different types of sedum)
  • Old-Fashioned Bleeding Heart
  • Rosinweed

We’ll have volunteer Master Gardeners on hand to answer questions and help you make your own DREAM GARDEN a reality.

The early bird catches the worm at 7:00 a.m.

Master Gardener Volunteer  |  UW–Extension Master Gardener Program of Marathon County

Faith Gokey retired 4 1/2 years ago but had spent 23 years working at Liberty Mutual Insurance, her last role being a Senior Assigned Risk Workers Compensation Underwriter. She now has turned her attention to doing all the things she did not have time to do while working. A Master Gardener Volunteer since 2005, Faith has been the Plant Sale Co-Chair for the last several years. She is also a volunteer at the Humane Society of Marathon County and rescued her two dogs, Cooper and Kramer. She recently stepped down as the Volunteer Coordinator at Stable Hands Equine Therapy, but she continues to volunteer there. She was also a volunteer at The Talent Shop until they closed their doors at the end of 2017. She and her husband are building a cottage near Rhinelander and spend most of their weekends working there. Traveling the world is another one of the things she loves to do. Email Faith Gokey.
